StoryFetcher

Privacy

Last updated October 29, 2026

StoryFetcher lets you watch and download the public stories, highlights and profile photo of an Instagram account without logging in. This page explains what happens to your information when you use it.

What we don’t keep

  • We don’t keep a list of the usernames you search for, and we don’t write them to our logs.
  • We don’t store the stories, highlights or photos you view or download. Files go straight from the media server to your browser.
  • We don’t ask for an account, an email address or your Instagram login, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

What we do process

  • To stop abuse, our server counts requests per IP address for about a minute. The count is kept in memory only and is not linked to what you searched.
  • To answer quickly, the server briefly caches public answers (about 90 seconds) in memory. The cache is cleared when the server restarts.
  • Our servers log technical events (for example, how long a request took and whether it succeeded) without the searched username.

Recent searches on your device

Recent searches stay in your browser’s local storage on this device and are never sent to us. You can clear them or turn them off with the switch under the search box.

Instagram and Meta

StoryFetcher is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. We only show content that the account has made public.

Removing a profile

If you own an Instagram account and want StoryFetcher to stop showing it, see Remove your profile from StoryFetcher.
